Event highlights + outcome

The workshop provided the community with a basic understanding of Git and GitHub.

I covered the fundamental concepts of Git and GitHub, followed by a hands-on workshop at the end so attendees practiced on their own. The workshop was beginner-friendly and aimed to spark curiosity about GitHub among students in their first years of university.

Event outcome

• Attendees learned the fundamentals of working with Git and essential commands:
  • git init
  • git add
  • git commit -m "..."
  • git push
  • git pull
  • git log
  • git status
• Beginner attendees created a GitHub account and made their first commit 💗💗💗
• Git cheat sheets were distributed among the attendees to facilitate learning of commands
